And dominion isn't about being a tyrant—it's about representing something sacred in every space I occupy.The real battlefield? Right here. In my home. Between me and my spouse. How many times have I let the "serpent" speak through me—those moments of frustration, anger, or disconnection? I'm learning it's not about winning arguments or proving myself right. It's about something deeper.When tension rises, my first instinct is to fight. But I'm learning a different way. Instead of arguing with my partner, I'm learning to pray. To get on my knees and ask for something bigger to intervene. It's not about binding my spouse—it's about binding that unseen force that wants to destroy our connection.I've seen it happen. Those moments when irritation starts to spiral. The old me would argue, defend, attack. Now, I'm trying to pause. To recognize it's not really about what's happening on the surface. There's something underneath—a spiritual dynamic I can't see but can definitely feel.Calling on Jesus isn't a magic fix. It's a realignment. A way of saying, "This isn't who we really are. I've always thought that strength meant holding everything inside, keeping a perfect smile, never letting anyone see me struggle. But what if that's not strength at all? What if it's actually a form of self-imprisonment?I'm tired of bottling up my emotions. Every time I'm frustrated, angry, or hurt, I press it down deep inside, thinking I'm being noble or mature. But the truth is, I'm just creating an internal pressure cooker. These suppressed feelings don't disappear—they just simmer, growing more intense with time.I want a different way of living. I want to be honest—with myself and with others. My emotions aren't something to be ashamed of or hidden away. They're signals, messages from my inner self about what I'm experiencing, what I need, what matters to me.This doesn't mean I'll become an emotional hurricane, exploding at every slight. Instead, I want to learn how to feel deeply and express myself thoughtfully. I want to create space for my true feelings—to understand them, to honor them, to let them move through me instead of getting stuck.My strength isn't about how well I can hide my struggles. &nbsp; Dear reader, This morning my morning watch brought me to &nbsp;1Cor 3:12, 1Pet 1:24-25 Which also got me to thinking about how I build my life, my faith, my understanding. It's like I'm constantly constructing something, but what are my materials?Sometimes, I catch myself building with grass—those quick, surface-level beliefs I've picked up without really examining them. Like how I used to mirror everything my first youth pastor said, or how I'd adopt the spiritual practices of whoever seemed most impressive at the time. It's easy. Comfortable. But ultimately, it withers.The wood of my own natural instincts isn't much better. My default ways of thinking, my knee-jerk reactions, my unexamined cultural conditioning—they look solid, but they're ultimately unrefined. They might hold something up for a while, but they're not really transformative.And stubble? That's those moments when I'm just going through the motions. Doing spiritual things because I think I should, not because I'm genuinely experiencing anything real. It's so fragile that the slightest challenge blows it away.But what would it mean to build with gold? With silver? With precious stones?Gold feels like those rare moments of true insight—when I'm not just hearing something, but actually understanding it deep in my core. When my perspective shifts not because someone told me to change, but because I've seen something profound.Silver seems like those times when I'm actually listening. Not just to others, but to myself. To that deeper voice that knows more than my surface-level thoughts and fears.And precious stones? That's transformation. That's when the rough edges of my soul get cut and polished. When I'm not just changing my mind, but being changed at the very core of who I am.I'm realizing how much of my spiritual life has been about mimicking others instead of experiencing my own genuine journey. Like that story about the church leader who was so slow that his entire congregation became slow—I've done that. I've copied spiritual styles, thinking that looking like someone else's faith was the same as having my own.But what if building isn't about looking a certain way? What if it's about being genuinely, vulnerably open to being reshaped?The wild part is that the materials that look strongest—my own ideas, my cultural background, my learned behaviors—are often the very things that will burn away. And what remains? Only what's been truly transformed.I want to build with something that lasts. Something real.

Dear reader,A few yes ago, I had a conversation that really shook me up spiritually. A preacher friend of mine and I were discussing salvation, and it hit me how deeply we misunderstand God's grace.I've been thinking a lot about Ephesians 2:8-9 lately - "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, that no one should boast." These words keep echoing in my mind.My friend believes that salvation is this fragile thing - like you can lose it if you mess up too much. But that doesn't make sense to me. If salvation depends on my performance, is it really grace at all?It's like I'm constantly trying to pay a debt I can never repay. But that's not how God works. Salvation isn't a transaction. It's not a credit card where I'm constantly making payments or risking repossession. It's a gift. A complete, unconditional gift.This doesn't mean I get to live however I want. Good works still matter. But they're not my ticket to heaven. They're my way of saying "thank you" to God for what He's already done. They're a response to grace, not the cause of it.I'm learning that my worth isn't in what I do, but in what Christ has already done for me. There's such freedom in that. I don't have to perform. I don't have to prove myself. I can just rest in His love.Grace means I didn't earn this. I can't earn this. It's all His doing. And isn't that just mind-blowing?Sometimes I still catch myself trying to "be good enough." But then I remember - I'll never be good enough. And that's exactly the point of grace.Just grateful today. Spiritual grace doesn't operate like a job application or a performance review. It's not about having the right credentials or impressing some cosmic scorekeeper. In fact, it's radically different.The most shocking revelation? My sins aren't what block me from experiencing grace. My pride is.I've been exhausting myself trying to appear put-together, to seem capable and in control, completely missing the point. God's grace isn't something I can earn or manufacture. It's a gift that descends to the lowest places—to those humble enough to admit their brokenness.I'm learning there's a strange beauty in acknowledging weakness. When I stop climbing and instead kneel, something miraculous happens. My failures don't disqualify me; they create space for mercy. My imperfections aren't obstacles; they're invitations.Grace is like a gentle stream that only flows downhill. The more I try to pump it up, to force it, the further it moves away.
